The Commanding Officer of the 8 Ky Inf. In a letter dated Jan 1864 addressed to Brig Gen Wm D Whipple, Asst Adj Gen’l, requests that a leave of absence for thirty(30) days be granted to the above named man for meritorious conduct at Lookout Mountain on the 25^th day of November 1863.
