Statement of the Military Service of George W. Daniel

The official records show that George W. Daniel was mustered into service 22 September 1861 at Camp Dick Robinson Ky as 2nd Lt, Company A, 3d Kentucky Infantry, which subsequently became Company A, 7th Kentucky Infantry to serve three years; was captured 30 August 1862 at Richmond Kentucky; paroled same date, again captured 15 October 1862 at Loudon Ky; confined at Richmond Va, 6 November 1862; paroled Aiken's Landing Va 8 November 1862; reported at Camp Parole MD 10 November 1862. He was mustered in as 1st Lieutenant to date 24 January 1863 and tendered his resignation on 7 August 1863 on account of ill health.

His age at muster in 22 September 1861 is shown as 30 years
