It has been determined by this Department that the action of the Comdg Genl Dept of the Cumberland purporting to dishonorably discharge this man on 12/11/63 to date 12/31/63 was taken under a misapprehension of the powers of the military authorities in such cases and is void and without effect and that the final record of the soldier is that of a deserter.
The notation of 12/17/63 is cancelled.
