On 9/26/1861 Robert P Dowis was wounded by the accidental discharge of his musket and died 9/27/61. His gun and accoutrements, knapsack and etc are returned to Capt W A Dozier. The aforesaid Dowis was wounded at the Camp at Boones Fork Meeting House in Rockcastle Co Ky on the march from camp Robinson to Camp Wildcat and died at the house of Talbot Bourman in the above named county and state.
